Caldera and EigenCloud partnership accelerates blockchain rollup throughput with EigenDA v2

Caldera, the rollup infrastructure arm of Constellation Labs, has partnered with EigenCloud to integrate EigenDA v2 into Caldera's rollup engine. This collaboration delivers industry-leading data availability performance, enabling sustained data throughput of up to 100 MB per second for blockchain rollups. By shifting transaction data posting from Ethereum Layer 1 to a dedicated data availability (DA) layer, projects can reduce costs, increase scalability, and maintain decentralized security guarantees.

Why dedicated data availability matters for rollups

Traditional rollups post all transaction data to Layer 1 (L1), which can become costly and limit scaling. A purpose-built DA layer, like EigenDA, offloads bulky state data while preserving verifiability. This means higher transaction throughput, lower per-transaction fees, and broader support for use cases such as payments, fintech rails, and banking applications that demand predictable performance.

Key innovations: guaranteed bandwidth and Ethereum-backed security

EigenDA v2 introduces data reservations that guarantee bandwidth at a fixed cost—critical for enterprise-grade blockchain apps that require consistent latency and throughput. The solution also leverages Ethereum’s decentralized trust model rather than building a separate consensus; economic security is reinforced by significant ETH-backed commitments, providing verifiable, bulletproof assurances for data availability.

Simplified developer experience via Caldera one-click integration

Caldera will offer EigenDA v2 as a one-click option in its dashboard for new rollups, making advanced DA accessible to teams without deep infrastructure expertise. Existing Caldera rollups can opt in to switch to EigenDA v2, enabling optimization of current deployments and lowering the barrier to adopting high-throughput data availability.

Proven at scale and real-world validation

The Eigen team demonstrated its platform by posting live chain state for multiple L1 and L2 blockchains, showcasing real-world performance rather than speculative benchmarks. This proven capability, combined with predictable pricing and streamlined integration, positions the Caldera–EigenCloud partnership as a practical path to scaling enterprise blockchain workloads.

  • Benefits: higher throughput, lower costs, guaranteed performance, enterprise predictability.
  • Use cases: payments, fintech, banking, high-frequency rollups, and data-heavy dApps.
  • Developer wins: one-click deployment, backward compatibility, and flexible migration.

Overall, the Caldera and EigenCloud integration is a meaningful step toward more scalable, secure, and cost-effective rollup infrastructure, addressing the DA bottleneck and unlocking broader adoption for production blockchain applications.
